HF radios are used to communicate long distances especially in remote areas. They operate on frequencies between 3 - 30 MHz. this range of frequencies can be reflected by the ionosphere allowing global communications.

HF radios are primarily used by amateur (HAM) and professional; military and government organisations to provide long range communications.
