License Free Radio

License free radios are a cost effective way of providing short range voice communications. These operate on a UHF frequency (446MHz), which is allocated for public use. The disadvantage of this is other people can overhear your communications. The radios are restricted to 0.5W transmission power which limits their range.

 

 There are a wide variety of radios available to suit any budget. From basic walkie talkies, great for days out with the family, to business ready radios, which offer the rugged construction that is standard to the professional market.
